TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa drivers should be aware of two separate lane closures starting at 9 a.m. today due to water main-related work.

Interbay Boulevard:

The southbound lane of Interbay Boulevard will be closed between South Dale Mabry Highway and South Himes Avenue. This closure is for permanent road restoration following earlier water main break repairs by the Tampa Water Department.

Barricades and flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area. This closure is expected to last until 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 30th, weather permitting.

South 50th Street:

In addition to the Interbay closure, the outside northbound lane of South 50th Street will be closed between 10th Avenue South and South 12th Avenue. This closure is for a water main break repair by the Tampa Water Department. Barricades and signs will be in place to assist with traffic flow.

The lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for repairs and subsequent restoration work. All lanes will reopen to traffic at 4 p.m. each day and then close again the following morning at 9 a.m. to continue the work. The Tampa Water Department anticipates repairs and restoration will be completed, and all lanes will reopen by 4 p.m. on Monday, February 3rd, weather permitting.

Further work may be required at a later date, and updates will be provided if necessary.

The Tampa Water Department appreciates the public’s patience during these necessary repairs and restoration efforts.
