POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Lakeland man, Jefferey Todd Padgett, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, January 24th. The arrest followed a search by deputies who were aware of two outstanding felony warrants for Padgett’s arrest.
The warrants stemmed from charges of Failure to Appear (defrauding a financial institution, grand theft) and fraudulent use of personal identification information. Deputies located Padgett driving a 2002 Dodge pickup truck and initiated a traffic stop.

The traffic stop occurred at the intersection of US 27 and Access Road in Davenport. Padgett was taken into custody on the two outstanding warrants.
In addition to the warrant charges, Padgett faces a number of new charges discovered during the arrest. These charges include trafficking in fentanyl over four grams, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Padgett was also charged with driving while his license was suspended or revoked, as he is classified as a habitual traffic offender. He was subsequently booked into the Polk County Jail
