ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who violently robbed a 65-year-old woman at knifepoint on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on January 27th near the intersection of 17th Avenue Southeast and Bay Street Southeast. The victim was walking in the area when the suspect, armed with a knife, approached her from behind.

Surveillance video of the incident shows the suspect initially passing the victim, then turning around and grabbing her. He then punched her in the stomach, cut her arm with the knife, and forcibly removed rings from her finger by placing her ring finger in his mouth.

The suspect is described as a man between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a full beard and a short Afro hairstyle. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black pants at the time of the robbery.
