Winter Haven Woman Arrested On Monroe County Warrant For Counterfeiting, ID Fraud

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 55-year-old Winter Haven woman was arrested Wednesday evening during a traffic stop. Marcella Thomas was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after deputies discovered an outstanding warrant for her arrest from Monroe County.

The arrest occurred around 8:53 PM when a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a blue Ford SUV near the intersection of 8th Street and Motor Pool Road. A routine check revealed the active warrant for Thomas.

The Monroe County warrant lists charges related to fraud and theft, including:

  • Possession of Counterfeit ID
  • Fraudulent Use of ID without Consent of Victim 60 Years of Age or Older
  • Fraud – Property under $20
  • Larceny/Theft $10,000 but less than $50,000 from a person 65 Years of Age or Older
  • Possession of Counterfeit Instrument

Thomas was transported to the Polk County Jail, where she is being held on a $220,000 bond.
