TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – A quiet residential neighborhood in Tarpon Springs was shattered by gunfire Monday evening, leaving one person dead and police searching for the suspects.
Around 8:00 PM, officers from the Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Starlight Cove. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive individual and immediately began administering first aid.
Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point by emergency medical services.

Police are currently withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The Tarpon Springs Police Criminal Investigation Division is actively investigating the incident, but details remain scarce.
While authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public, the suspects involved in the shooting remain at large.
