Florida Rep. Byron Donalds delivered an impassioned speech following the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, celebrating the Republican Party’s sweeping victories across key battleground states and outlining the administration’s ambitious vision for the country’s future.

“Whether it was Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, or Nevada, we swept them all, and Donald Trump is president of the United States,” Donalds declared to thunderous applause.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by the conservative movement, Donalds emphasized that the American people rejected the policies of the left in favor of “common sense and real vision.” He praised voters for their resolve in choosing a leadership that prioritizes national sovereignty, economic growth, and a renewed commitment to law and order.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Donalds highlighted its importance not only as the dawn of a new administration but also as a moment to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Being here in Washington on January 20th is special for me,” Donalds said. “We commemorate the birthday of Dr. King, and today’s events reminded me of another great speech—because in our country, there are no perfect men or women, only those who are called to lead when the time is right.”

Referencing President Trump’s remarks about surviving an assassination attempt during the campaign, Donalds asserted that Trump’s leadership is a divine calling meant to guide the country into what he described as “The Golden Era of America.”

Donalds assured the crowd that the promises made during the campaign would be fulfilled with urgency, highlighting key policy priorities:

  • Economic Revival: “We are going to get prices under control and have a great economy again.”
  • National Security: “We are getting out of stupid wars and embracing peace through strength.”
  • Military Focus: “Our soldiers’ core mission will be clear—defend our country, defeat our enemies, and come home safely.”
  • Border Security: “We will launch the largest repatriation effort in history, ensuring that those who enter the U.S. do so legally.”

Donald’s remarks echoed the core tenets of Trump’s second term agenda, reinforcing a commitment to cracking down on illegal immigration and revitalizing the economy through deregulation and tax cuts.

In a pointed message to states such as California, New York, and Illinois, Donalds criticized what he called “dumpster fire” governance under liberal leadership, offering Florida, Texas, and Tennessee as models for conservative governance.

“If you want to continue down a path of radical policies, know that states like Florida will show you what true leadership is,” Donalds stated. “We will set an example that people across this nation will follow.”

Despite the strong partisan rhetoric, Donalds emphasized the need for national unity, calling for a renewed focus on American values of hard work, opportunity, and mutual respect.

“We are Americans first,” Donalds said. “When a young kid from the inner city achieves success, when a mom dreams big for her children, and when an immigrant contributes legally to our great nation—THAT is success.”

He concluded with a rallying cry for action: “Buckle up, everybody. We are going to get the job done, and if anyone stands in our way, they will be moved aside.”

As the Trump administration embarks on its second term, Donalds’ speech set the tone for what supporters hope will be a transformative period in American history. His fiery address reinforced a commitment to Trump’s America First agenda and left supporters energized for the work ahead.

“God bless you,” Donalds said in closing. “God bless America, and God bless President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance.”
