Polk City Man Arrested After Attempting To Thwart Vehicle Repossession

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk City man faces multiple charges after allegedly resorting to violence and property damage to prevent the repossession of his vehicle.

34-year-old Minor Blanco Salas was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, January 10th, following an incident on Burr Drive.

Deputies responded to the scene around 11:00 AM after a tow truck driver reported that Blanco Salas had become violent while attempting to repossess a white 2014 Ford F-150.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Blanco Salas first tried to drive his truck away while it was already hooked up to the tow truck, but his attempt was unsuccessful. He then climbed onto the back of the tow truck and tried to disable the towing equipment, causing damage in the process.

As deputies arrived, Blanco Salas retreated into his residence. However, with the assistance of a K9 unit, he surrendered peacefully without further incident.

Blanco Salas was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with:

  • Resisting an officer
  • Burglary of a conveyance
  • Felony criminal mischief
