ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Petersburg man is facing multiple charges after allegedly going on a smash-and-grab vehicle burglary spree throughout the city.
Cory Kendrick, 24, was arrested on Tuesday after a police officer recognized him from surveillance footage captured at a Publix parking lot on January 4th. The video showed Kendrick riding his bicycle through the lot, smashing car windows, and stealing items from vehicles. A total of 11 vehicles were damaged in that incident alone.

The following day, an officer spotted Kendrick riding a bicycle near Baum Avenue and attempted to apprehend him. Kendrick fled but was quickly caught and arrested. Officers also recovered two firearms in his possession.
Further investigation linked Kendrick to additional vehicle burglaries in the area, including five break-ins at a dentist’s office parking lot on January 2nd.
Kendrick is currently facing a long list of charges, including:
- 11 counts of vehicle burglary
- 1 count of armed vehicle burglary (for stealing a firearm)
- 1 count of credit card fraud
- 1 count of credit card theft
- 1 count of unlawful possession of a personal ID
- 1 count of obstruction
- 1 count of carrying a concealed firearm
- 1 count of felon in possession of a firearm
Detectives believe Kendrick may be responsible for even more vehicle burglaries in the area over the past month and are continuing to investigate and contact potential victims and witnesses. Additional charges are expected to be filed.
