POLK COUNTY, Fla.- A 37-year-old man from Saint Cloud was killed in a motorcycle crash near Frostproof on Sunday evening.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the two-vehicle collision on US 27 at Charles Street around 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, first responders found the motorcyclist, Kevin Loring, deceased.
Loring was driving a black 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle northbound on US 27. A silver 2017 Nissan Quest van, driven by a 48-year-old woman from Frostproof, was traveling westbound on Charles Street.

The van stopped at the intersection with US 27, then proceeded to make a left turn onto southbound US 27, crossing into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle collided with the van, ejecting Loring from his bike. Despite wearing a helmet, Loring suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
