Ohio Teen Killed In Pinellas County I-275 Crash Involving Florida Road Ranger

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old motorcyclist from Greenville, Ohio, lost his life in a tragic multi-vehicle crash on I-275 early Friday morning. The accident occurred around 6:44 AM near the 35 milepost.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident began when a Honda motorcycle, operated by the 18-year-old, was traveling northbound in the outside lane of I-275. At the same time, a Chevy Equinox driven by a 65-year-old St. Petersburg man was traveling northbound in the outside center lane.

As these two vehicles approached a Road Ranger Ford F-150 stopped on the shoulder to assist a disabled BMW X3, a collision occurred between the motorcycle and the Chevy Equinox.

The impact of the collision forced the motorcycle towards the shoulder, where it struck the barrier wall. The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and thrown forward, colliding with the rear of the Road Ranger. The motorcycle then continued forward and struck the rear of the disabled BMW.

Tragically, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The drivers of the Chevy Equinox and the Road Ranger were uninjured.
