Arkansas Man Fatally Struck On US-19 In Citrus County

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 50-year-old Arkansas man was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on U.S. 19 in Citrus County on Thursday evening.

The fatal crash occurred around 6:20 PM near North Champion Point. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Chevy Silverado driven by a 24-year-old Ocala man was traveling southbound on US-19 when it struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the outside travel lane.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was uninjured.
