FEMA Disaster Recovery Center In Tampa Relocates As Recovery Efforts Continue

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the Disaster Recovery Center at the Lee Davis Community Resource Center, located at 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa, will close its doors at 7 p.m. today, December 21.

A new Disaster Recovery Center will open on Thursday, December 26, at the City Center at Hanna Avenue, located at 2555 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa.

The new center will operate Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will be closed on Sundays.

The Disaster Recovery Center provides essential services for residents and nonprofits impacted by Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Visitors can:

  • Apply for federal aid.
  • Update applications.
  • Submit supporting documents.
  • Appeal denial or case-closed letters.
  • Request additional funds.

Residents are encouraged to visit the center for personalized assistance, but applications can also be completed online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app, or by phone at (800) 621-3362. Phone lines are open daily, and assistance is available in multiple languages.

For those unable to visit the Disaster Recovery Center, FEMA operates Multi-Agency Resource Centers at the following locations:

  • Gandy Boat Ramp: 5108 W. Gandy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33611.
  • Bloomingdale Regional Public Library: 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, FL 33596.

These centers are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except on December 24 and 25, when they will be closed for the holidays. They provide a wide range of services, including assistance for individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits navigating post-storm recovery.

For the latest updates on hurricane recovery efforts, residents can visit HCFL.gov/StormRecovery.

To stay connected, residents and visitors are encouraged to register for HCFL Alert, Hillsborough County’s official emergency notification system. Alerts can be received via email, phone, or text by signing up at HCFL.gov/HCFLAlert. For additional information, residents without internet access can call Hillsborough County’s Customer Service Center at (813) 272-5900.
