23-Year-Old Webster Man Dies In High-Speed Crash On US-301 In Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 23-year-old man early Saturday morning on US-301, just north of Ranchette Boulevard.

According to authorities, the man was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck northbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered off the roadway and struck a tree along the west shoulder of the highway.

The driver, identified as a Webster resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits, especially during the holiday season.
