PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving two vehicles caused significant traffic disruptions on State Road 54 Friday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 1:45 p.m., left both drivers with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 68-year-old New Port Richey woman driving a Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Cita Lane when she crossed SR-54.

Her vehicle went over a raised concrete center median and collided with a Ford bucket truck driven by a 29-year-old Hudson man, who was traveling eastbound on SR-54.
The impact caused the Ford truck to overturn. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway, blocking both eastbound and westbound lanes of SR-54, leading to traffic delays as emergency responders worked to clear the scene.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
