The manhunt is intensifying for 37-year-old Jesus Tamanis-Peralta, a suspect accused of sexually battering a child and promoting sexual performance by a child. Investigators believe Tamanis-Peralta is attempting to flee to his native Veracruz, Mexico, to avoid prosecution.

Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has received credible information placing Tamanis-Peralta in McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas, as recently as Sunday, December 15th. He has been on the run since last week, after apparently becoming aware of active felony warrants issued for his arrest by MCSO.

Tamanis-Peralta, who is undocumented, resided in the Manatee Creek area of Martin County, where the alleged offenses occurred. He is accused of sexually battering a child on multiple occasions, and in some instances, recording these acts.

Detectives believe Tamanis-Peralta’s presence in Texas indicates an attempt to cross the border into Mexico. The MCSO is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
