TAMPA, Fla. – Starting at 9 a.m. today, all southbound lanes on North Himes Avenue between West Gray Street and West North B Street will be closed as the Tampa Water Department works to repair a water main break.
To assist with traffic flow, barricades and signs will be placed throughout the area. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and follow detours as they navigate through the affected zone. Modifications to traffic patterns may occur as the work progresses.

The repair work is expected to be completed, with normal traffic patterns restored, by 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 21. However, the Tampa Water Department may need to revisit the site at a later date to finalize additional repairs, and updates will be provided as necessary.
The department emphasizes that work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions. Staff and crews appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this time.
