A record 7.1 million Floridians are expected to travel more than 50 miles during this year’s holiday season, a 3% increase from last year.
According to AAA, the majority of travelers (90%) will be driving to their destinations. However, air travel is also expected to reach record levels.
Peak Travel Day:
- December 22nd is predicted to be the busiest travel day.
Popular Destinations:
- Four of the top five domestic travel destinations this holiday season are expected to be in Florida.
- Orlando is projected to be the most popular destination nationwide.
Travel Tips:
- Expect Congestion: With a surge in travelers, anticipate heavier traffic, especially in major metropolitan areas and popular tourist destinations.
- Plan Ahead: Leave early to avoid delays and traffic jams.
