Suspect In Fatal Gibsonton Hit-And-Run Arrested In Pasco County: Hillsborough County Sheriff

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan Saldana Rojas, 27, on Friday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Gibsonton on December 11, 2024.

Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the collaboration between law enforcement agencies that led to the arrest.

“The arrest of this suspect highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies. We are grateful for the partnership and swift action of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office in arresting this wanted individual,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This case is a testament to how working together can bring justice to the victim and their family.”

PREVIOUS REPORT: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

On December 11, 2024, an 18-year-old motorcyclist, Isaiah Raposa, was struck and killed by a white sedan at the intersection of Symmes Road and Southwind Lake Drive in Gibsonton. The driver of the sedan fled the scene.

Through their investigation, detectives identified the driver as 27-year-old Jonathan Saldana Rojas. Saldana Rojas is wanted on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving without a valid license.

“Every life lost on our roads is a tragedy, and in this case, the victim’s life was taken far too soon,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Now that we know the name of the driver responsible for this fatal hit-and-run, our focus is on locating him. I urge anyone who has information about his whereabouts to come forward. Your help is critical in ensuring justice is served and bringing closure to the victim’s family.”
