A Pennsylvania man was convicted on multiple drug trafficking charges following a jury trial in federal court.

Michael Jones, Jr., 44, was found guilty on all 10 counts of an indictment, including conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a stolen firearm.

The charges stem from a 2021 incident where Jones was stopped by Pennsylvania State Police and found to be transporting drugs hidden in a stereo speaker. A subsequent search of his stash house yielded additional drugs, a stolen firearm, and a significant amount of cash.

The case was investigated by the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and Wilkes-Barre Police Department. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania prosecuted the case as part of a larger effort to combat the opioid epidemic and reduce violent crime.
