MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida with a criminal history was arrested early Monday morning after being caught peering into a closed business in Marathon while carrying concealed weapons.
Julio Rafael Hernandez Rodriguez, 38, of Key West, was spotted by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies around 12:11 a.m., dressed in dark clothing and looking through a side window of a closed business. When deputies approached, Rodriguez attempted to leave the scene but was stopped and searched.

A butterfly-style knife and a pair of brass knuckles were found in his backpack. A check of his record revealed prior felony convictions in DeSoto County, Florida, and Virginia Beach, Virginia, making it illegal for him to possess such weapons.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with loitering and possession of a concealed weapon by a felon. He was then transported to the Monroe County Jail.
