According to the plea agreement, the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS-OIG) launched an investigation in May 2023 after receiving a complaint about stolen mail, which included a credit card and a Social Security card. In October 2023, the same individual filed another complaint with USPS-OIG reporting a second missing credit card.
The investigation revealed that Anderson had used the stolen credit card after taking it from the mail along his postal route.
This case was investigated by the USPS-OIG.
