HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A routine traffic stop for a red light violation has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of stolen firearms, drugs, and burglary tools.
On Wednesday, December 4th, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle run a red light. During the stop, deputies noticed the driver, 19-year-old Mi’Yonte Richardson, attempting to conceal something on the floor of the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants, including passenger 17-year-old Emmitt Kinsey, revealed two stolen firearms, cannabis, oxycodone, and fentanyl. Deputies also discovered multiple tools, gloves, and a ski mask, suggesting potential involvement in burglaries.
“Our deputies continue to make this community safer by putting dangerous criminals behind bars,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “It is disappointing to see such young individuals engage in such reckless and dangerous activity. We strive to protect the well-being of our residents and recovering stolen firearms does just that.”
Richardson was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including armed possession of a controlled substance, open carrying of a weapon, and possession of burglary tools.
