Lakeland Man Killed In Early Morning Pickup Truck Crash Saturday

LAKELAND, Fla. – A 24-year-old man tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash in Lakeland early Saturday morning.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at the intersection of Pipkin Road and Old Medulla Road around 1:50 a.m. They found the man with serious injuries after his 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck veered off the road and collided with a metal power pole.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Deputies noted that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident, including whether factors such as speed or impairment played a role.
