WIMAUMA Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for the driver of a pickup truck who fled the scene after striking a pedestrian in Wimauma on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on SR-674 around 6:24 p.m., east of 4th Street. A 64-year-old man was walking eastbound in the eastbound lane when he was struck by a black 2002-2008 model Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The impact propelled the pedestrian into the path of an oncoming Cadillac XTS, resulting in a second collision.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The driver of the Cadillac remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The driver of the Dodge Ram fled the scene, but surveillance video captured images of the vehicle and driver. FHP is urging anyone with information about the incident or the driver’s identity to contact them at *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
