HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Street Crimes Unit arrested two teenagers following a traffic stop that led to a brief foot pursuit and the discovery of multiple firearms.

The incident began at the intersection of Bryan Road and Williams Road, where deputies conducted a routine traffic stop. During the stop, two rear passengers fled the vehicle on foot.

Deputies pursued the suspects and quickly apprehended 17-year-old Sidney Dorsey. Upon his arrest, Dorsey was found carrying a loaded Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun equipped with an extended magazine holding 22 rounds.

The second fleeing suspect, 16-year-old Arturo Garcia, was located and apprehended with the help of HCSO’s Aviation, K-9, and Patrol Units.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed additional weapons, including:

  • A 5.56 rifle with an extended magazine and no serial number.
  • A Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun along with a loaded magazine.

“This case highlights the dangers our deputies face daily as they work to keep illegal firearms off our streets and keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to our deputies’ swift action and teamwork, these dangerous individuals were arrested, and weapons that could have caused harm were removed.”
