Lakeland Pedestrian Struck And Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash

LAKELAND, Fla. – A 67-year-old pedestrian, Robin Brown, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:02 AM near the 700 block of South Florida Avenue. Ms. Brown was attempting to cross the street from Palmetto Avenue when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The driver fled the scene without stopping.

Responding officers, Lakeland Fire Department, and Polk County Fire Rescue personnel arrived quickly and began life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, Ms. Brown was transported to Lakeland Regional Health where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Lakeland Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash. They believe the suspect vehicle is a gray or silver 2018-2022 Range Rover Sport 2.
