TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Fire Rescue crews responded to a house fire on the 1600 block of E. Idell Street on Saturday morning, November 23rd, 2024.

Multiple 911 calls reported a possible person trapped inside the single-story home. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames engulfing the structure.

A primary and secondary search of the home was conducted, and one adult victim was found inside. The victim was quickly removed from the burning house and transported to a local trauma center in critical condition.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Tampa Fire Rescue, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Tampa Police Department. No other injuries were reported.
