MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Little Torch Key man was taken into custody on Saturday following a high-speed chase on U.S. 1.
Justin Mark Nichols was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, and multiple traffic violations.

The incident began around 12:30 p.m. when Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop Nichols. Instead of complying, Nichols sped off, reaching speeds of nearly 100 mph.
Deputies pursued Nichols until he was eventually apprehended on Morton Street. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into jail.
