LAKE WALES, Fla. – A Lake Wales man was arrested Thursday after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle and injuring a passenger during his attempt to escape.
The incident began when officers responded to a report of a stolen 2015 Chevy Malibu on Dr. J. A. Wiltshire Avenue. While investigating, officers spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Nicholas Reynolds, fled from police, leading them on a chase that ended when he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.

During the pursuit, Reynolds allegedly ran over a passenger who was trying to exit the vehicle, causing minor injuries.
Reynolds was apprehended and taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including:
- Grand theft of a motor vehicle
- Aggravated battery
- Fleeing to elude
- Driving with a suspended license
- Resisting an officer without violence
