Sun City Center Motorcyclist Killed In Collision With School Bus In Riverview, No Students Injured

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Sun City Center motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a school bus Wednesday afternoon in Riverview.

The crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of US-301 and Duncan Avenue. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Hillsborough County school bus was traveling southbound on US-301 when it attempted to make a left turn under a flashing yellow arrow.

The bus turned into the path of a northbound Suzuki motorcycle, resulting in a collision. The impact sent the motorcycle careening into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a Dodge 2500 pickup truck.

Tragically, the 26-year-old motorcyclist from Sun City Center suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The drivers of the school bus and the pickup truck were uninjured. There were 12 students on board the school bus at the time of the crash, none of whom were injured.

The FHP is investigating the crash to determine the exact sequence of events and any contributing factors.
