PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 37-year-old Tampa man has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash that occurred early this morning. Authorities are actively searching for the driver involved, who fled the scene.
The crash took place on US-41 near 4535 US-41. A Chevy Tahoe traveling southbound lost control, veering off the road and onto the sidewalk. The vehicle traveled over 150 feet, struck a chain-link fence, and collided with a parked Honda Fit in a driveway.

The force of the impact sent the Honda Fit into a nearby structure, breaking through an interior wall and striking the victim inside. The Tahoe followed, further damaging the structure. The victim suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Tahoe fled the scene on foot after the crash. A witness described the driver as:
- Race/Gender: White female
- Height: Approximately 5’7”
- Age: Mid-30s
- Hair: Shoulder-length reddish blonde
The witness noted that the driver appeared very disoriented before fleeing.
