Career Criminal Arrested In Alturas, Threatens Polk County Deputy During Transport

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk County man with an extensive criminal history was arrested Tuesday night and now faces additional charges after allegedly threatening a deputy.

43-year-old Roy Weeks, classified as a career offender in Florida, was wanted on a warrant for felony domestic battery. Polk County Sheriff’s deputies, including a K-9 unit, apprehended Weeks at a residence on 80 Foot Road in Alturas shortly after 10:00 PM.

Weeks surrendered to deputies without incident. However, during transport to the Polk County Jail, he reportedly made threatening statements towards the deputy.

Weeks was booked into the Polk County Jail on the outstanding domestic battery warrant and an additional charge of threatening a law enforcement officer.
