TAMPA, Fla. – A dog and several cats were rescued from a house fire in Tampa on Monday afternoon thanks to the quick actions of Tampa Fire Rescue crews.
Firefighters responded to reports of a residential structure fire on the 500 block of W. Paris Street around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke billowing from a single-story home.
Crews immediately entered the house to search for occupants. While no residents were found inside, they located and rescued a dog named Lily and several cats.

Firefighters provided emergency care to the animals, successfully reviving Lily, who was suffering from smoke inhalation. All the pets were safely reunited with their grateful owners.
It took firefighters approximately 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Tampa Fire Marshal.
