DADE CITY, Fla. – Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) unveiled its cutting-edge fire training facility at the East Campus in Dade City today with a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The impressive $4.9 million facility features a five-story, 50-foot-tall fire training tower that simulates real-life building fires, allowing students to experience realistic scenarios in a safe environment.

“PHSC strives to stay on the cutting edge, in terms of the preparation we provide our students. This fire training tower means that the students who go through our fire science program will emerge better prepared for the realities they will face in their work. In addition to serving our students, this facility will allow us to provide ongoing training for professionals from across the state.” said PHSC President, Jesse Pisors, Ed.D.
The 4,280-square-foot complex, developed and constructed by renowned international firm Skanska, also includes:
- Burn prop stations for specialized training
- Two classrooms for instruction and debriefing
- Covered parking
- Storage containers for training equipment

The new fire training facility represents PHSC’s commitment to providing high-quality education and training for the next generation of firefighters. It will also serve as a vital resource for local and state fire departments, strengthening the region’s emergency response capabilities.
