Southwest Airlines Flight Struck By Gunfire While Taxiing In Dallas

DALLAS, Tex. – A Southwest Airlines flight preparing for takeoff at Dallas Love Field Airport was reportedly hit by gunfire on Friday night, sending the plane back to the gate and prompting an FBI investigation.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. local time as Southwest Flight 2494, a Boeing 737-800 bound for Indianapolis International Airport, was taxiing for departure. The gunfire reportedly struck near the cockpit of the aircraft.

Following the incident, the pilots immediately returned to the gate, where passengers were safely deplaned. No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew.
