CNN anchor Jake Tapper grew visibly stunned early Wednesday morning as his fellow panelist John King pointed out that Vice President Kamala Harris did not outperform President Joe Biden in any state throughout the country.
Trump won the 2024 election early Wednesday by securing 277 electoral votes, bringing him over the necessary 270 votes necessary to become president-elect, with some states still yet to be called. Harris performed significantly worse than Biden in every state throughout the country, including the key battleground states needed to win the presidency, King said.

“You asked, are there any places where the vice president is overperforming Joe Biden in 2020, so I can show you that as well if we bring that out here, Harris overperforming in 2020,” King said, showing no results.
“Holy smokes,” Tapper said. “Literally nothing? Literally not one county?”
King initially pressed the wrong button, which showed that Harris did not outperform Biden in any state rather than in other counties, though she outperformed the president in a small number of counties.

Biden won the 2020 election by a 306-232 margin against Trump, with Harris not being able to reach the same volume of votes as the president this election cycle. The president narrowly won the key state of Pennsylvania 50% to 48.8% and Georgia with a 49.5% to 49.2% margin against Trump in 2020, giving Democrats some hope that Harris could perform similarly in 2024.
The now-president-elect secured North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin early Wednesday, putting him over the threshold to declare victory.
Tapper also appeared stunned Tuesday after learning that early voting data indicated a 20-point shift among independent voters in Georgia for Trump.
