ORLANDO, Fla. – A 19-year-old Orlando resident has pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun.
Jeremiah Cundiff entered the plea in federal court and now faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
According to court documents, Cundiff was apprehended by law enforcement on October 23, 2023, on an active warrant. While attempting to flee, Cundiff discarded a loaded firearm equipped with a machine gun conversion device, often referred to as a “switch.” The device is designed to convert a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic weapon.

Cundiff’s DNA was found on the firearm, linking him to the illegal weapon.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through community partnerships and focused enforcement efforts.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Noah P. Dorman is prosecuting the case.
