PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Spring Hill man is facing serious charges after a fatal ATV crash that claimed the life of his passenger.
The incident occurred Sunday night behind a Sunoco gas station on Shady Hills Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Ford K. Perkins was driving a Polaris side-by-side ATV in circles on a private road when he lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.

A 35-year-old male passenger was ejected from the ATV, and tragically, the vehicle rolled over him, causing fatal injuries. Another passenger, a 24-year-old male, was unharmed, as was the driver.
Following the crash, Perkins fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short distance away. He was arrested by FHP troopers and charged with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
