TAMPA, Fla. – A 17-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck by two vehicles in Tampa on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Dale Mabry Highway at the intersection of Mapledale Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the teenager was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a southbound Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old female.
The impact propelled the bicyclist into the path of a Mazda CX-5, also traveling southbound, resulting in a second collision.

The young bicyclist was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. This tragic incident highlights the dangers faced by bicyclists on busy roadways and serves as a reminder for both drivers and cyclists to exercise extreme caution, especially at intersections.
