This extension allows the County Administrator and emergency managers to take swift action to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents. It also facilitates the process of receiving federal reimbursement for certain expenses related to the hurricane response.
The state of emergency grants the county additional powers and flexibility to respond to the ongoing needs of the community, such as:
- Streamlining debris removal: Expediting the process of clearing debris from public and private property.
- Providing essential services: Ensuring access to food, water, shelter, and medical care for those in need.
- Coordinating with state and federal agencies: Facilitating collaboration with other government entities to maximize resources and support.
