LAKELAND, Fla – A Lakeland man with a long history of criminal activity and multiple prison sentences is back behind bars after being arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
56-year-old Thomas Polk was wanted for allegedly cutting a man’s face with a knife. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but Polk was charged with aggravated battery.

Deputies located Polk during a traffic stop and found him attempting to hide inside his vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.
Polk’s extensive criminal record includes arrests for burglary, grand theft, battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic violence, and other offenses.
He has been to state prison ten times, serving a total of 21 years. He was most recently released in April 2023.
