Sarasota Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting

SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Gillespie Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 1 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. One person was found with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

As the investigation is still in its early stages, the Sarasota Police Department has not released many details.
