The Los Angeles Dodgers seized a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2024 World Series with a 4-2 victory over the New York Yankees in Game 2 at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.
The Dodgers’ pitching staff, led by a strong performance from starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto, stifled the Yankees’ bats, limiting them to just two runs.
Yamamoto allowed only one run over his outing, while Carlos Rodón, the Yankees’ starter, struggled, giving up three runs in the third inning before being pulled.

This win puts the Dodgers in a dominant position, as teams with a 2-0 lead in best-of-seven World Series have historically gone on to win the championship over 80% of the time.
The Yankees, who suffered a heartbreaking extra-inning loss in Game 1, now face an uphill battle to get back into the series. They will need to regroup quickly as the series shifts to New York for Game 3.
