Five Teens Charged In Fatal St. Petersburg Hit-And-Run Of 70-Year-Old Man

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Five teenagers, aged 12 to 15, are facing serious charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed 70-year-old Edward Webb on Monday, October 21st.

Webb was walking across 9th Avenue South when a stolen Jeep SUV struck him. The driver of the SUV fled the scene, leaving Webb fatally injured. The vehicle was later found abandoned a few blocks away.

After an investigation, police identified the 14-year-old driver and four passengers. The driver is now charged with third-degree murder, vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal crash, driving without a license causing death, and grand theft auto.

The four passengers, aged 12, 13, 14, and 15, are also facing charges of third-degree murder and grand theft auto.

The Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office is working with investigators on this case.
