A Colorado man is facing serious charges after allegedly breaking into a home and attempting to kidnap a young girl from her bedroom.
The incident occurred in Sterling, Colorado, shortly before 2:30 AM on October 15th. According to the Sterling Police Department, 56-year-old Thomas Gallegos entered the home on Walnut Street and attacked an 8-year-old girl in her bedroom.

Gallegos was reportedly wearing a clown mask and blindfolded the child during the attack. The young girl bravely fought back, but Gallegos allegedly attempted to hit and choke her.
Before fleeing the scene, he reportedly stole the victim’s phone but left behind the clown mask and a pair of gloves.
The girl sustained minor injuries in the attack. Authorities later recovered her phone near an interstate.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Gallegos and apprehended him on October 19th. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, attempted second-degree kidnapping, third-degree assault, and child abuse.
