Over 230,000 insurance claims have been filed in Florida due to Hurricane Milton, with estimated insured losses nearing $2.75 billion, according to the state Office of Insurance Regulation. The majority of claims, 185,002, are for residential property damage.
An additional 31,061 claims are for damage to private passenger vehicles, with the remainder covering commercial property and vehicles.

The number of claims and estimated losses have been steadily increasing since Milton, a Category 3 hurricane, made landfall in Sarasota County on October 9th and traversed the state.
As of Tuesday, the total estimated insured losses reached $2,748,539,630. This represents a significant increase from Thursday’s figures, which showed 189,958 claims with $2,341,971,571 in estimated losses.
