TAMPA, Fla. – The City of Tampa is stepping up to help residents affected by Hurricane Milton by providing computer access and assistance with online FEMA applications. Starting today, October 22nd, Copeland Park will be open daily from 8 AM to 12 PM for residents who lack internet access or need help navigating the FEMA application process.

While FEMA representatives will not be present on-site, city staff will be available to answer general questions and provide guidance in completing the online forms.

“It has been heartwarming to witness the strength of our community in the face of Hurricane Milton,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “While FEMA decisions are made solely by FEMA, the City of Tampa is here to help our residents navigate the application process and ensure everyone has access to the resources they need to recover.”

What to Bring

Residents seeking assistance should bring the following information to complete their FEMA applications:

  • Address of the damaged property
  • Names of household members
  • Description of the damage
  • Insurance information
  • Social Security number
  • Phone number and email address
  • Bank account information

The City of Tampa is providing computer access and general assistance only. FEMA will ultimately determine eligibility and make decisions regarding assistance.
