St. Petersburg Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver Who Struck And Killed 60-Year-Old Man

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police are searching for the driver of a stolen Jeep who struck and killed a pedestrian on Monday evening. The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Edward Webb.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the Jeep, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day, was speeding northbound on 12th Street South before turning west onto 9th Avenue South. It struck Webb as he was crossing the street. The driver then abandoned the Jeep at the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 14th Street South and fled the scene.

Webb was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
