SEFFNER, Fla. – A 14-year-old student at Armwood High School in Hillsborough County was arrested today for bringing a gun onto school grounds and resisting arrest.
The incident occurred around 1:47 p.m. when the School Resource Deputy received a tip that Kwami Milton had a firearm on campus. When confronted, Milton refused to comply with commands, attempted to flee, and was subsequently apprehended after the deputy deployed a taser.

A search of Milton’s backpack revealed a Sig Sauer 9mm handgun. He is facing charges of Possession of a Firearm on School Property and Resisting an Officer Without Violence.
Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the seriousness of the offense, stating, “Bringing a weapon onto a school campus is not only illegal but endangers the lives of students and staff and will not be tolerated in Hillsborough County.”

Milton was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and will be transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center. The investigation is ongoing.
