POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Mulberry woman, Jasia Owens, was arrested on Sunday, October 20th, after allegedly threatening an Uber driver with a firearm.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when the Uber driver picked up a couple in Bradley Junction. The couple discussed getting another ride with the driver and wanted to include their friend, Jasia Owens. However, when Owens appeared with her dog, the driver refused to allow the pet in the car.

This sparked an altercation, during which Owens allegedly pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the driver, and threatened to shoot him. She also reportedly snatched the driver’s cell phone.
The driver tried to leave, but Owens blocked his car. One of the passengers intervened, retrieving the phone and returning it to the driver, who then escaped and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived to find Owens attempting to flee the scene. She was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm.
